Your abstinence-only education at work

Americans who pledged to be virgins until marriage have nearly the same STD rates as those who like to get funky before marriage. Gee, why could this be? I wonder...

Teenagers who take a public vow to abstain from sex have fewer partners and get married earlier.

But they are much less likely to use condoms, the research found.

Republicans still insist that abstinence-only "education" reduces the rate of STDs, despite pesky little things like facts getting in their way.

Update: Another story to add to this, with more facts that should come as no surprise.

The study on Tuesday of a nationally representative sample of about 15,000 youths aged 12 to 18 found that 88 percent of teenagers who pledged to remain virgins until they are married ended up having sex before marriage.

...Adolescents who pledged abstinence were much less likely than others to use contraceptives the first time they had sex.

Let's get one thing straight: Teenagers fuck. Now I'm not saying all teenagers are sluts or anything, and many don't have sex during their high school years, but the temptation exists. Reality is that teenagers fuck, they have been fucking each other for years, and there's nothing the government or the churches can fucking do about it. The worst things they can do is promote abstinence, because not only does this "education" fly in the face of reality, but it leaves teenagers ill prepared for the time when they goto college and live in a co-ed dorm with no supervision whatsoever. What does der monkey and his dumb ass friends expect these teenagers to do in this situation, play board games? Jesus, they'll fuck. And when you don't teach teenagers about contraceptive and STDs before they become sexually active, then you're placing them in danger. Period. George W. Bush and the rest of dumbass Republicans who promote abstinence-only "education" are only proving that they don't give a damn about the safety of America's youth, they just seek to shove their religion down our throats.
