We've all known that Republicans wish to shamelessly use the death of a man to their political advantage. But this isn't merely speculation fitted with a tin foil hat anymore, because this article catches them with their pants down.

"It never hurts to change the subject after you've had a couple of bad weeks," California Republican consultant Dan Schnur said.

But Schnur and other Republicans said any potential benefits for Bush would be negated if he was perceived to be milking Reagan's death for political gain. [Translation: "God, we know it's wrong to use somebody's death to our advantage, but we all wished the old fart could have waited until October to kick the bucket."] ...

"This has real potential for the president, but he has to be very careful," Schnur said. "If he is too heavy-handed, voters will back away."
