Progressives to Nader: Fuck you

Some leading progressives have issued a well reasoned open letter endorsing a vote for John Kerry in swing states and the Green Party's David Cobb anywhere else.

Notably absent from this letter was any mention of Ralph Nader. I know that some of the authors didn't vote for Nader in 2000, but the real slap in the face comes from Elizabeth Horton Sheff. You probably don't know who she is, but her name is very familiar to Green Party insiders because she's constantly elected to the Hartford (CT.) City Council, and Greens have the utmost respect for their own who hold public office. Elizabeth is also a wonderful lady and great speaker; I met her when she was invited to speak at a Green Party of Rhode Island meeting a couple years back. Being a black person in a political party that's practically lily white, she discussed how Greens need to convey their message so that the masses can understand it, and not just other like-minded political wonks.

Elizabeth Horton Sheff, a dyed in green office holder and political activist, has turned her back on Nader. This speaks volumes about what Nader has really become, and how many people he has stabbed in the back.
