Tet thinking

In the Vietnam War's Tet Offensive, part of North Vietnamese (NV) General Giap's strategy was meant to spread US and AVRN/South Vietnamese (SV) forces thin by causing uproars in rural areas, causing soldiers to be pulled from SV cities to squelch the uprisings. While soldiers were kept busy in rural areas, Giap sent his forces into the cities afterwards in an attempt to take them over while US/SV forces were stretched thin.

Now, in all fairness, I would like to point out that there are no direct parallels, but the NV strategy of Tet is interesting to think about where Falluja is concerned, and the chaos erupting in the rest of the country. Mosul's getting hit right now, for example. Baghdad has also been under intense pressure.
