That cringing feeling

Driving around and listening to the AM dial last night, I stumbled upon one station playing audio from NBC's Press the Meat, aired earlier that day. At this point, it was the middle of the interview and I didn't know who Russert's guest was. After listening for a few minutes where he still wasn't introduced, I couldn't even tell if the man was a Repubican or Democrat.

Russert's guest turned out to be Nevada Senator Herny Reid, the new Minority Leader for the Democrats. Should we be able to tell right off the bat whether or not the leader of the Senate Democrats is, you know, actually a Democrat?
