The Sydney Morning Herald reports that the Iraqi government is kicking foreign journalists out of the country for doing things like going alone to the site of a bombing, like Australian journalist Ian McPhedran. He was caught alone by the director-general of information in Iraq while surveying the damage done to the Information Ministry building after a bombing raid, his media passes satellite phone were taken away, and he was expelled to Jordan. And here I thought that going out and getting the story was supposed to be a jounralists job. Some journalists have been arrested and had their hotel rooms searched by Iraqi police, and two journalists are still missing.
