Rummy needs a Geritol

US Defence Secretary Donald Rumsfeld did not recall British Prime Minister Tony Blair's pre-war claim that Iraq had weapons of mass destruction ready to be deployed in 45 minutes, he said yesterday.

...General Richard Myers, the chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, said he did not remember the statement either.

The article goes on to recap the story of the 45-minute cliam, which everyone else in the world remembers, since it continues to make worldwide headlines and caused that whole shitstorm in Britain. But Rummy and the JCS chairman just plain don't remember the claim ever being made.

You gotta be fucking kidding me. There are two ways to take this information: Rummy is lying, and therefore should be thrown out of office. Or Rummy is incompetent, and therefore should be thrown out of office. Either way, if you're assigned to one of the most powerful positions in the world and you claim to have no recollection of one of the biggest international news stories in very recent memory, what are you doing in power?
