I browse buzz.yahoo.com to see what the most popular news articles and photos are, and lately, there's been an assortment of ass and crotch shots for Olympic female beach volleyball players. One picture simply showing a player's stomach, crotch, and legs, is captioned: "The net casts a shadow on Shelda Bede's body as she waits for play during her beach volleyball quarter-final victory over comptariots Ana Paula Connely and Sandra Pires at the Athens 2004 Olympic Games." Well, if a net is casting a shadow on her body, why not show the whole goddamn body if you intend to make a news photograph out of it? Since showing a close up of her bare thighs and crotch covered up with a tight bikini brief is, well, rather blatant, don'tcha think? Especially when you can practically make out the cameltoe. I've never seen this level of sexual overtones in "news" photos before.
