Parking ticket sparks car fire

An Iranian motorist doused his car in petrol and set it alight with a match after he was given a parking ticket in Teheran. Photographs of the charred vehicle were shown on the website of the Iranian student news agency ISNA yesterday.

"Extremely angry at a parking attendant's action, the driver took a jerrycan of petrol out of the boot and set fire to his car," the agency said. Fines have increased heavily since March to improve Teheran's gridlocked traffic.
