Bush says, I reply, part one

"Activist judges, however, have begun redefining marriage by court order, without regard for the will of the people and their elected representatives. On an issue of such great consequence, the people's voice must be heard. If judges insist on forcing their arbitrary will upon the people, the only alternative left to the people would be the constitutional process."

Bush didn't mind activist judge's in 2000 who awarded him the presidency. What's his beef with them now?

"As democracy takes hold in Iraq, the enemies of freedom will do all in their power to spread violence and fear. They are trying to shake the will of our country and our friends -- but the United States of America will never be intimidated by thugs and assassins. The killers will fail, and the Iraqi people will live in freedom."

Isn't it hypocritical to talk about the freedoms of Iraqi people while Bush clearly states that he wishes to deny two people of the same sex the freedom to get married. It's unbelievable that Bush can make a comment such as this when Iraqis by the thousands are protesting for democratic elections.
