Seeing red

Citizen Smash is shocked - yes, shocked I tell you! - that socialists who lead anti-war protests are also school teachers. I guess he thought all socialists lived in communes and sucked down welfare checks. I mean, Jesus, who could have thought that socialists actually have jobs that make them productive members of society?!

After revealing that the socialists he met at an anti-war protest taught at public high schools, Smash ended his post with this line: "Do you know who is teaching your children?" What's next, Smash, litmus tests for all public high school teachers? Maybe they'll have to sign alligence pledges to the Republican Party before entering a classroom? Fire any teacher who dares to criticize our der leader? Mandate a dress code of brown shirts and a red armband?

The lack of respect the right has for basic freedoms and human rights never ceases to amaze me. They'll scream and yell about how our soldiers are in Iraq fighting for our freedoms, but the very second somebody disagrees with them, well that person just doesn't belong in our society! Well, guess what Smash? Socialists are people, not some bunch of subhuman freaks that are undeserving of have the same rights bestowed upon the rest of us. They have the freedom to believe in what they want, and pursue any career that they want. Just like any other American. If you don't like this, then you're free to move to any other country that you wish.
