Shocked.. By reality!

In Florida, Republicans are trying to amend the state constitution so parental notification laws can be passed, which would force a minor to tell their parents that they want an abortion. Apparently, Republicans have never heard of something in their closet.

Women's eNews reports that State Senator Gwen Margolis (D) shocked her colleagues earlier this year during a debate when she held up a coat hanger to demonstrate who some young women choose to end their unwanted pregnancies, saying "We're talking about young women dying."

Is the truth so shocking? Honestly. What do Republicans think will happen of they get parental notification laws passed? That underage sex would suddenly stop? That the new law would fix a problem instead of creating a whole set of new problems, and health risks to boot? Are they really this naive?
