Anti-War votes for Nader?
There's some buzz abound about the growing strength of the anti-war movement, and how this could hurt the, quite frankly, pro-war Kerry because votes that should other goto him will goto Nader instead, who is the only actual anti-war candidate running. I'd love to feel sorry for Kerry in this case, but I just can't. The only reason Nader can sap votes away is because Kerry is on the wrong side of a very, very important issue. And if it causes him to lose the election, I'll scream at anyone who blames Nader again. The only reason Nader is in the race is because the Democrats again refused to nominate a candidate who had any hint of a backbone. It's about time Kerry grew a backbone, realized that what's happening in Iraq isn't something that he should be supporting, and develope a plan to get our troops out of there. And if he doesn't, then fuck him. It will be his fault, and his fault alone, if he loses the election, especially with what's happening to Bush right now.
Furthermore, where is Kerry? Has he even been around lately? Gas prices and inflation are exploding, Iraq is looking more FUBAR as each day passes, a factory which Bush used as his platform to brag about the economy last year has gone under -- Where. Is. Kerry? It's bloody amazing that Bush's poll numbers can drop while Kerry's won't rise. Where is Kerry? Why isn't he beating Bush over the head? Is he too busy helping his daughter pick a dress to wear at Cannes? Where the fuck is this guy? The presidency is being handed to him on a silver platter and he's just ignoring it like it's nothing. The time to act is now.
