But, but, there's no jungle!

During the run up to the war in Iraq, I loved it when hawks dismissed claims that Iraq could possibly be another Vietnam by saying that Iraq was all desert and it had no jungles, so obviously there's no place for the enemies to hide!

Iraq has CITIES, you fucking dipshits. There's plenty of places to hide when you're engaged in urban combat. And where do you think Iraqis lived, out in the fucking desert with little access to food and water? It was possible for people in Vietnam to live in small villages since jungles have vegetation, water, etc. Did the hawks actually believe that Iraq was just a bunch of little shit desert villages that nobody could hide in? Is that what the hawks actually thought?

God, these are the brains behind the war. No wonder it's FUBAR.
