It's bad enough that the Bush family is forcing Ralph onto the ballot in Florida, ruining any sembelence of a checks and balance system in the process, but they don't havr to rub salt into our wounds with the bullshit excuse of blaming Hurricane Ivan.

Mrs Hood, who was appointed by Governor Jeb Bush, the president's brother, said she was obliged to overrule a judge's preliminary court ruling because Hurricane Ivan might prevent the judge from holding a final hearing.

The approaching hurricane had raised "a substantial question as to when such a hearing" would be heard, she said.

Democrats retorted that Ivan was not even due to strike the state capital, Tallahassee, where the judge sits. The Florida Democratic chairman, Scott Maddox, said the decision was "blatant political manoeuvring by Jeb Bush to give his brother a leg up on election day" in November.
