Here comes the voter disenfranchisement, GOP style

Yesterday, I noted that new voter registrations in Democrat-leaning counties in Ohio and Florida are up by the thousands. Well, undaunted by pesky little things like democracy and majority rule, Ohio Republicans have voided many of the new voter registrations. Why? Get a load of this shit.

Citing an arcane ruling that requires voter registration cards be printed on 80 pound stock paper, [Ohio Secretary of State Ken] Blackwell is threatening to void registrations submitted on a lighter weight paper, demanding they re-apply. There is no time to reapply and thousands of voters could be left off the rolls.

This is so illegal it's not even funny. The Republicans truly don't have a shit about our basic freedoms, like the freedom to choose our own President. And as far as I'm concerned, since Ohio is a must-win state this election, pulling a move like this invalidates the whole damn election.
