Given just what happened in the 2000 election, it's simply amazing that we can read this...

Seriously, what the fuck is wrong with this country? How long does it take us to learn something? Remember when you were a child, and that bright red burner on the kitchen stove looked so tempting to touch? So, of course, you touched it, burned yourself, cried a little bit and never touched it again. Well, not anymore, because we as a nation are so bad at learning from our past mistakes that we've just laid our hand out on the burner and stuck a pot of boiling water on top of it. We've gone from making a stupid mistake to just being fucking stupid.
