"Sweeping" my ass
Buoyed by his sweeping mandate, President George W Bush has set out an ambitious agenda for his second term, vowing to implement the radical domestic and foreign policies that he promoted in his campaign.
"I earned capital in the campaign, political capital, and now I intend to spend it. It is my style," he said.
I'm going to shit myself the next time I hear "sweeping mandate." It wasn't sweeping. Bush got 51% of the popular vote, and that's it. 51% F-i-f-t-y-o-n-e-f-u-c-k-i-n-g-p-e-r-c-e-n-t. That is NOT "sweeping," that's just squeaking by.
Take a look at this map on feministe and tell me how goddamn "sweeping" Bush's victory was. This guy has a mandate to govern from middle, and that's fucking it. (Not like he will...)
