SARS is for Pussies
A scientist in Hong Kong thinks that SARS jumped from cats to humans because of the cat consumption in the city. Meow. Meanwhile, a group of British scientists have an interesting theory about the origins of SARS: it came down from the stratosphere and laid dormant before latching onto a human. They point out that there are highly evolved micro-organisms living in our stratosphere, and the concept that these sometimes come down to Earth and latch onto humans could not only explain the SARS outbreak, but also some other unsolved pandemics throughout history.
