Why anybody thinks Bush is successfully waging a "war on terrorism" is beyond me
And today's news that the ranks of al-Qa'ida are swelling makes me hope that I'm not alone. What's worse than going into Afghanistan and "smoking them out of their caves"?
Osama bin Laden's network appears to be operating in more than 60 nations...
Driving the terror network out of Afghanistan in late 2001 appears to have benefited the group, which dispersed to many countries, making it almost invisible and hard to combat, the story said.
Whoops! I guess that whole war in Afghanistan was not only fought over nothing, but it only succeeded in making al-Qa'ida stronger. But at least Bush's invasion of Iraq has helped his supposed battle against global terrorism! Right?
Wrong.
The occupation of Iraq has provided a "potent global recruitment pretext" for al-Qaida and probably increased worldwide terrorism, a leading thinktank said yesterday.
And now that Bush has committed our military resources to the war in Iraq, what happens when the terrorists attack us again? There's a huge potential for this to happen since Bush has not made us any safer. What happens when more buildings fall to the ground? Will Republicans still say that people like me are unpatriotic for not supporting their bullshit wars?
