I have a question for Mr. Powell. I was listening to his speech on the radio today. He said that he had satellite photos showing a "surge" of activity at sites that the UN needed to inspect, days befre their inspection.
Mr. Powell showed photos of trucks at the site, being loaded, then the trucks leaving. It showed the site being inspected devoid of trucks. And then after the site was inspected, trucks returned. Of course, armed with this type of knowledge, it's a good reason to question Iraqi government motives.
However, if we have technology that is this advanced and we know that trucks are leaving from a site that needs to be inspected before we are inspecting it, then why are we not tracking these trucks and searching them?
I'm not trying to be ass, but.. I'm just trying to make some sense of this by using a little logic. If we know before hand that Iraq has removed items from a site that is going to be inspected, then why are we focuing the inspection on that site and not on tracking and finding the trucks that left the site, and inspecting them?
It doesn't make sense. I find it troubling that I still cannot trust my government, even when they have evidence, because of gaping logical flaws such as the one I just illustrated. If our intelligence technology is this advanced, an if Iraq has weapons of mass destruction, then we should have some definitive proof at this point.
But we don't. What does that tell us?
